Draft Prospects: We need a Hall of Famer!!

As I’ve watched one of the best years of NBA playoffs in recent memory, I’ve noticed a trend. All of the best teams/teams that have a chance to win the title have a possible future hall-of-famer on their roster. In the East, Boston: The Big Three Detroit: Billups, Hamilton (possibles), Orlando: Howard, Cleveland: Lebron (only a few can be called by their first name). In the West, Lakers: Kobe, New Orleans: Paul, San Antonio: Duncan, Utah: Williams (a stretch but possible), Houston: McGrady, Pheonix: Shaq, Nash, Stoudemire, Dallas: Nowitzki, Kidd, Denver: A.I., Melo. Get my point yet?? If you don’t you are missing something

Detroit and Utah are the only two on this list that are truly stretches and they compensate for that by their depth. Both of those teams have multiple people who can lead them in scoring and who can drop 20 or so on you any night. (i.e. Kirilenko’s performance in game one of the Houston series) Since that is unlikely for the pacers anytime soon, the best route is to get a hall-of-famer.

The only way I see them doing that, is tradng up for a top 5 or top 3 pick. Package their pick with Jamaal Tinsley for a(New York maybe? But Donnie probably isn’t stupid enough to drag him along)
